The Russian House is versatile venue in the heart of Fitzroy located just 3 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD, offering its unique Victorian charm to those who want to add a special touch to their event.
Our venue is most suitable for stylish private celebrations, boutique weddings, film and photography shoots, unique pop up retail, product launches and ongoing regular classes/workshops.
The Crystal Hall is located on the ground floor of the venue and can accomodate up to 120 guests (100 seating). Boasting with a classical Victorian feel, oversized floor to ceiling mirrors, crystal chandeliers, exquisite acoustics, timber floors and ballet bars and a grand piano, it is a hidden gem not to be missed.
We have an option for dry, “do-it-yourself” hire, where the venue is a blank canvas for your imagination. Bring in your decor to add to the existing charm. Vendors of your choice can utilise our fully equipped kitchen, with a BYO liquor license completing the picture. On-site seating and table arrangements are available for use at no extra cost.
Alternatively, you can select our in house creative team to help you with decor, AV support, photography and floristry for a stress-free, professionally executed event.
As a community space first and foremost, we pride ourselves on our amazing team, relaxed atmosphere and affordability.
NOTE: NFP rates and discounts for ongoing bookings available. A security deposit and an hourly duty manager fee may be applicable.

Not-for-profit organisations are eligible for a discount.
Please note that a duty manager has to be employed for some events where alcohol is served. Their rate is paid separately.

Host rules
Strict music cut off time due to the venue being located in a residential area. 10pm on weekdays and Sundays, 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
All information submitted by the hirer (ie purpose of the event, number of attendees) must be true and up to date. In the event where the hirer has submitted false or misleading information, The Russian House reserves the right to cancel the booking and no refund will be made to the hirer.
Cancellation policy: Flexible with Grace Period
