- The private room they eventually allowed us to host our private event in was quite nice - They allowed us to stay later than our initial allotted time, perhaps because it took them 40 minutes to seat us (originally they weren't going to seat us at all!)
- Reservations Manager confirmed they could accommodate 11 guests outside even in wet weather however on the day, they simply said they couldn't seat us altogether and tried to turn myself and my 10 guests away - I even called them 2hrs prior to see if I could move my event inside. They said they're fully booked which would've been fine given they also said they can still put umbrellas up and make the space as comfortable as possible even with the rain. - They waited until all of my guests had arrived to say sorry, it's too wet, we can't accommodate you. - Host was also extremely rude to my guest who was trying to understand the situation before I arrived. - They eventually said they could move our event to a private room - not sure why this was never given as a first option in wet weather - When I went to pay the bill, they had charged us for extra pots of tea. As we had afternoon tea option, we expected tea refills to be free. They should have informed us if they were going to charge us extra for tea refills - Overall poor events communication and misleading info provided - outdoor area cannot accommodate wet weather at all.
The venue is simply gorgeous and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us on the day which I was very grateful for. I would definitely book this venue again.
There are only 2 guest toilets on the ground floor. So it gets crowded very fast, I think for the size of the restaurant and outdoor space they need more toilets. The service was also quite slow, we ordered afternoon tea for 12 people and it took an hour from when we seated to get our order. The teas also arrived lukewarm but I think that may be because of the distance between the kitchen and garden. However these 2 negatives do not outweigh the overall service we received on the day and the beautiful location
We really loved the garden and how pretty it was
The sandwiches were not very nice and the bread a bit stale (did we get leftovers?) and there was supposed to be a waiter with us at all times but there wasn’t. We kept having to chase. Furthermore, the staff were a bit rude. Also no menus so we couldn’t see what we were eating. Just these little bit of attention to detail were missing.
Attentive Staff with excellent communication before and during our event. The location was perfect for our event.

About The Hyde Restaurant & Bar
London's thriving bar scene has recently had a magnificent upgrade as the elegant and upscale bar, 'The Hyde', opens its doors to the public at The Roseate House Hotel, a luxury boutique hotel comprising three renovated, mid-19th century Grade II listed townhouses. Visually delighting and catering exquisitely to the taste and feel of the bar's guests, The Hyde offers a restorative and all-encompassing intimate sensory experience.
As a traditional hotel bar, The Hyde offers discerning locals and seasoned travellers to London a refined dining and cocktail experience, a place to meet and entertain with excellent personal service and the opportunity to explore the culture and history of London. Already a favourite with international guests, such as from the United States and France, and with no other luxury bar in the close vicinity, The Hyde currently fills a void with its inimitable character.
The Hyde is an intimate and exclusive retreat, a space you enter not to be seen, but to enjoy outstanding service and unique comfort within the exclusive confines of a traditional British Townhouse Hotel, whilst relishing some of the best libations London has to offer. This is matched only by a contemporary food offering which complements the bar experience rather than dominating it.
