About this space
The Main Room is the heart of Alongside Six, set aboard a restored 1930s Dutch barge on Regent's Canal.
Natural light fills the space from three sides through large windows and original circular portholes, with views of the canal and surrounding greenery. As the day goes on, the light shifts across the wooden floors and domed ceiling, creating a bright and inviting setting.
The room features warm wooden floors, curved ceilings, rich timber panelling, café curtains, a wall of mirrors, and a wooden vinyl player with built-in Bluetooth speakers. It is suitable for Pilates, yoga, sound baths, photoshoots, meetings, private dining, and celebrations.
Capacity: Up to 13 mats for movement classes, 15–20 guests for stationary wellness sessions, or 30–40 seated guests.
Included equipment: 15 premium black exercise mats and 10 grey mats, 2 kg and 1 kg dumbbells, 0.5 kg ankle weights, 13 Pilates weights, rings, balls, yoga straps and resistance bands, 30 yoga blocks, 4 trestle tables, and 16 wooden stools.
Additional: Infrared heating panels are available for an additional charge for hot classes. An air conditioning/heating unit is included.
Prices
We understand that sometimes plans change unexpectedly. For cancellations made inside the 30-day window, your deposit (50% of the total booking cost) will be retained as a cancellation fee.
If you need to move your date rather than cancel, just get in touch with at least 14 days' notice and we'll do our best to find an alternative that works subject to availability.

Host rules
- No smoking in the barge.
- Please keep noise to a comfortable level after 9pm; we have neighbours nearby who we respect.
- All guests must vacate the space by 9.30pm, and we ask that departures are quiet and considerate.
- A member of the Alongside Six team may be present in the upstairs office during your hire. They'll stay out of your way and won't disturb your event.
- Infrared heating panels must not be used without prior approval from the Alongside Six team.
- Maximum capacity must not be exceeded at any time.
Catering:
- Outside catering is warmly welcome.
- Food must arrive ready to serve; cooking on the premises is not permitted, though plating and finishing on site is absolutely fine.
- All food, drink, waste and catering equipment must be taken away on the day. Please leave the space clear and ready for cleaning.
- BYOB is permitted. Alcohol is strongly advised to be served by the host or a member of your catering team.
- No alcohol to be consumed on the premises after 9pm.
- If alcohol is being sold a TEN (Temporary Event Notice) is required.
Music & Sound:
- Use of speakers and music is welcome but must be kept at a reasonable level and reduced after 8.30pm.
- Live music or DJ equipment requires prior approval.
Outdoor & Deck:
- BBQs on the front deck are permitted with prior written approval from Alongside Six.
Fire & Safety:
- Candles and open flames are not permitted on the barge without prior written approval.
- Please familiarise yourself with the fire exits and safety equipment on arrival.
Children & Pets:
- Please let us know in advance if children or pets will be attending. Given our waterside location, we ask that children are supervised at all times, particularly on the deck and boardwalk.
Damage & Cleaning:
- Hirers are responsible for damage caused during their event.
- Please handle all equipment, furniture and fixtures with care.
- An additional cleaning fee may be applied if the space is left in an unsatisfactory condition.
Cancellation policy: Standard 30 day with Grace Period
