Rooftop Venues Hire Guide

Sydney's glittering shores and spectacular beaches are filled with sunshine, creative culture and vibrant events. The city's signature landmarks and eclectic neighborhoods offer a distinctive blend of heritage and modern style, each venue showcasing its rich history and unique personality. But what about getting some fresh air when out on the town? Whether you’re simply looking for the best places with a rooftop in the Sydney CBD or you’re in search for a perfect rooftop wedding venue in the Sydney area – you’ll find it all on this page. Whatever venue you may need, you can be sure that Tagvenue will provide with the best locations in town. Your friends, family and maybe even co-workers are bound to be stunned with the event space choice!

With that being said, have you scrolled through our amazing selection of rooftop venues yet? If not, then why not read through our top tips and make your organising easier:

  • Weather – Sydney weather can be a little unpredictable at times. Always check with the venue's management about your options  if rain or inclement weather ruins your rooftop plans. Many bars and rooftop establishments offer a backup room indoors. After all, you wouldn’t want to have your cocktail party in the middle of a rainstorm!
  • Location – Just being on a rooftop doesn’t guarantee a great venue. One of the best parts about rooftop venues in Sydney is the views you can savour from way up there! Take a look through the venue’s pictures on their profile so you can find out what kind of view it offers. We’re pretty sure you’re going to love the view of Sydney’s skyline. Just take a look at
  • How close are the indoor facilities? – Most rooftop party venues in Sydney are connected to an indoor bar and restaurant. But it is a good idea to always look into the toilet and facility situation to ensure that you don't need to use a portable outhouse! Also, sometimes you might just want a mix of both–indoor and outdoor spaces–in case your guests don’t feel comfortable staying outdoors throughout the whole event.
  • Stay flexible – When planning a rooftop party, try to leave your  agenda open and free. Part of the reason why people love outdoor venues is the freedom they enable by offering an escape from the normal hustle and bustle of regular indoor events. Plus, Sydney offers some really great locales–if one doesn’t meet your expectations, you can be sure you will quickly find another!

Have an idea in mind, but don’t want to go over your budget? Here are a few examples of prices you should expect:

  • There are many restaurant venues with rooftop terraces that charge a per person fee for events at their facility. This fee is very common at rooftop wedding venues in Sydney, and usually includes drinks and everything else that you need for your party. The per person fee for rooftop venues in Sydney ranges from $30-$85.
  • The minimum spend pricing structure is another common fee among Sydney venues. The minimum spend rate is a neat way to pay since you don't actually pay for the venue itself, you simply commit to buying a certain minimum amount of food and drinks as a group. The minimum spend fee in Sydney ranges from $500-$2,500.
  • You can also book a private rooftop venue by paying a hire fee. This fee usually only covers the use of the event space for your event and sometimes extra tables and chairs. Expect Sydney hire fees to range from $200-$3,500. (All data from Tagvenue)

Booked The Living & Balcony Rooms at Bustle Studios
What. a. venue. Had the most incredible hens party here last Saturday. The balcony was such a fantastic spot - sheltered from the public so we could enjoy the privacy and be as loud as we wanted. The inside is beautifully decorated and makes it feel so homely yet modern. The venue itself is decked out with EVRYTHING you need - from cutlery to music to a projector to extra tables and and ice bucket etc. You have to pay a bit extra to use the plates / cutlery and we didn't do that - but in hindsight I would recommend you too instead of dealing / lugging with all your own stuff. Laura was the most accommodating and gracious host - helping myself and my dad carry all the stuff up the stairs the day before. She also let us come a day early as there wasn't anyone using the space the night before which helped out so much. 100% rate this venue such a little gem and perfect for any kind of party central in Sydney.
