About this space
The Pink House has two themed rooms. One is the Bawa Room, inspired by our favourite Sri Lankan architect, Geoffrey Bawa.
The other is the Love Room, inspired by In the Mood for Love. It’s where we keep our cheongsam collection, with plans to offer them for rental in the future.
There’s also a small outdoor patio created along the corridor, lined with an upcycled skateboard deck — perfect for coffee, drinks, and sunsets. Almost everything in the house is authentic vintage or retro, including household wares, making it a truly entertaining experience. The home reflects our belief in form and function — a philosophy we live by (“look good & taste good” / 好看也好吃).

Furnishing it in mostly vintage, retro, mid modern & scandi style, friends who know me have remarked that my house is no surprise an extension of my personality that’s old school, modern & eclectic - very JANICE!
Why did I call her “The Pink House”?
When I first saw the place, I fell in love with the pink living room wall and mosaic arch, as well as the green jadeite flooring. They form part of the ORIGINAL 3 room HDB apartment that’s built since 1971! So well preserved, I then decided to retain a part of Singapore history thats interestingly found in a neighborhood known to be” poor and drug-filled”
Thus, the name and design concept were inspired by the original space, a mix of “pink, red and green” vs basic colors of black & white !
I’ve also created 2 theme rooms- one is the “Bawa Room”, inspired by my fave Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa where I do my yoga and work. Here, you can find many interesting books & postcards relating to Singapore and Sri Lanka! It can also be turned into a 2nd living room whenever I have a big party or the kids visiting!
The other theme room is the “Love Room”, inspired by #inthemoodforlove film where I keep all my cheongsams with the intention to rent them out one day. In the meantime, it’s a cosy space for reading, napping and just chilling, disconnecting and losing yourself completely.
Ooh there’s also this lil “outdoor patio” that I created along the corridor lined with my fave frangipanis & an upcycled skateboard deck to enjoy coffee, drinks & sunsets!
Pretty much everything is authentic vintage/retro including household wares so it would definitely be an experience in my house ! The house is a realization of my vision of ‘FORM + FUNCTION’ combined, which is essentially my philosophy in life. (“look good & taste good”= 好看也好吃）
The Pink House has given me so much joy so I’m happy to share it with others who appreciate her too! It has different mood when shot at night and in the day too due to the warm lightings.
