About this space

Moored gracefully on the Solent and steeped in maritime charm, The Lightship is a beautifully restored 1940s vessel. Glorious views across the water, accompanied by the iconic Gunwharf Quays skyline.

With room for 80 to savour a seated feast or 200 to mingle in joyous motion, the space breathes with the rhythm of the occasion. We can make available a spread of dining choices bespoke to you - let us know what you fancy, and our events coordinator will be on hand throughout to cater to your needs.

The lightship has two fully licensed bars with delicious cocktails and wines for you to all enjoy; with one bar overlooking the Solent, you can have a tasty cocktail whilst the sun sets overlooking the Solent! Our middle deck contains our restaurant and bar area which can hold up to 60 people whilst our upper open plan deck with a bar overlooking the Solent can hold around 120 guests.

About The Lightship

Formerly known as the Mary Mouse 2, this lovingly restored 1940s lightship originally served as the guiding light for ships travelling along the Portsmouth coast. And today, this beautiful ship is docked just in the Haslar Marina, and drifts through a canvas of sky and sea, where reveals Portsmouth Harbour’s beauty at every turn.

Anchored in view of Old Portsmouth and watched over by the Spinnaker’s graceful reach, The Lightship whispers stories through every sunlit deck and shadowed corner.

Capacity of 80 guests for a sat down meal & 200 for standing! Let the evening begin with twilight cocktails above, before drifting below to savour dishes crafted with care and finesse!
