About this space
Stage 1 is Northern Stage’s biggest auditorium, suitable for theatrical productions, conferences, presentations and award ceremonies. Stage 1 has played host to hundreds of theatrical performances over the years as well as other high profile events such as BBC1’s Question Time, BBC Comedy Festival, the British Science Festival and Virgin StartUp with Richard Branson. Stage 1 is a versatile venue for a wide range of events, both corporate and theatrical. Hire of the spaces comes with technical support, front of house management (including ushering), as well as use of dressing rooms.
Prices
Stage 1 workshop hire includes the use of the stage area only. Dimensions above do not include the fixed seating area.
Get-In Costs
Get-in days may be required depending on the size and technical requirements of your hire. These are charged at 75% of the full day rate.

Lunch buffet: A selection of freshly made sandwiches, wraps, crudites, and dips £11.50+VAT per head
Finger buffet: A selection of freshly made sandwiches, wraps & breads, 3 finger items, sweet treat & crisps & dips £16.50+VAT per head
Finger items could include seasonal arancini, croquettes, samosas, mini quiches & pies, etc
Salad buffet: A selection of falafels with houmous & olives, Vegetarian tart, green salad, 2 seasonal salads, and freshly baked breads £15.50+VAT per head
Italian Style Pizza buffet: margarita/pepperoni/veg artichoke pizzas, green salad, garlic bread, and dips £15.50+VAT per head
Sharing Boards buffet: Selection of cheeses, charcuterie meats, with chutneys, fruit, and freshly baked breads £18.50+VAT per head
Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets can be catered for as standard. Please include information regarding dietary restrictions and food allergies at the time of booking.
