About this space

Our Hall is an exquisitely restored open-plan events hall for events, gigs, exhibitions (you name it!) for up to 1,300 people.

We have ensured that the renovation of the Hall has allowed it to keep a number of its original mid-century features, including a sprung maple dance floor and wooden panelling. Our Hall has a restored ‘disco ceiling’ & lighting installation which creates a responsive/immersive environment for all moods.

The building is shared with our New Century Kitchen, which brings the best of Manchester’s food and drink scene situated in the NOMA district, our vendors will cater to your foodie preferences!

New Century was originally a dance hall in the 1960's, hosting acts including The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Tina Turner & The Beegees. It was adopted in the 1980's by the Manchester ‘Madchester’ scene - & New Century fostered such local talent as The Stone Roses & Happy Mondays.

The venue has a flexible layout that can cater for all your Private Hire & Event needs, we have a state-of-the-art sound system, production, and lighting facilities.

About New Century

After years hiding in plain sight, the rebirth of New Century brings a piece of Manchester’s musical heritage back to life for a new generation. Within its stunning mid-century modern architecture, New Century creates a new social hub and platform for creative talent across 3 floors.

On the first floor, the legendary venue is back. With its original sprung dance floor, disco ceiling and state-of-the-art sound system, the hall is now hosting an eclectic programme of events.

On the ground floor our resident independent food traders are cooking up a storm with an evolving menu of local and globally inspired cuisines, served alongside local beers, wines, cocktails, coffees, and teas.

Education and nurturing the next wave of creative talent is central to what New Century is about. The dBs Institute live in the basement teaching music technology and games design at degree and post graduate level in a state-of-the-art facility.
