The Actress & Bishop boasts a newly renovated event space situated upstairs at the venue where the whole floor is yours. It is a multi-function room which caters for both corporate events and celebrations. Full PA/AV equipment is included in the price, plus private facilities, manned bar, and high-speed wifi.

Fantastic venue, the staff were incredibly helpful and the set up was amazing. The guy who did the lighting and sound was brilliant and sorted out everything we needed.
The WIFI wasn't great but we worked out a solution.

Yeah, really, really good venue. In fact, it actually looks even better in real life than it does in the photos — especially the stage area. With all the tables set up around it, the space has a really nice, intimate, cosy vibe. It’s right in the centre of Birmingham, super easy to get to, and we held our event there on a Sunday which worked perfectly.
The layout was spot on — not too much walking or climbing stairs, everything was accessible and just made sense. Overall, the whole day ran smoothly. Everything felt functional, comfortable, and well thought out. Honestly, it’s a brilliant venue.
What Could Be Improved
The only real issue we had was during our headline act — a big-name comedian we’d booked for the night. As soon as she started her set, a huge amount of noise came up from the musician playing downstairs. I’d actually asked beforehand whether that might be a problem and was told it wouldn’t be, but it ended up being very disruptive. The music was so loud that the comedian had to start making jokes about it just to diffuse the awkwardness.
In the end, I had to run downstairs and ask the barman if he could get the musician to take a short break — just a quick 10 minutes so the set could finish.
To their credit, they did seem to lower the volume after that, which helped a lot. But honestly, for future events, I wouldn’t feel comfortable booking the venue unless I had a firm guarantee that there’d be no live music downstairs during performances. It really did cause a major issue and quite a few people in the audience were visibly agitated by the noise.

We are a popular live music venue with multiple spaces for hire. Located in Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter, we have a late bar and excellent transport links. We are only a short walk from Snow Hill and New Street stations.
We have vast experience in hosting all kinds of celebrations, live music events as well as corporate functions, meetings and networking.
