The Yellow House gallery is a purpose-built exhibition space, equipped with high quality track lighting, air-conditioning, and AV cabling.
There are two integrated levels – ground level, approximately 180 sqm and lower ground, approximately 130 sqm.
The striking roof window enhances the beauty of the space. At the entrance of the gallery, a large secure ‘display box’ allows promotion of the exhibition from active Macleay Street. With the award-winning ‘Yellow Restaurant’ adjoining the gallery, as well Potts Point's much loved dining institutions of Bistro916 and Fratelli Paradiso; catering for events is effortless.

The ambiance is enhanced by polished concrete flooring and stark, white walls, creating a contemporary aesthetic. Hidden storage areas are cleverly incorporated using screens, and the space is equipped with air conditioning. An attention-grabbing light-box display at the entrance, facing Macleay St, is available for advertising.

The space is enhanced by a striking retractable roof window, and at the gallery's entrance, a large secure 'lightbox' provides a platform for promoting exhibitions to the bustling Macleay Street. Adjacent to the gallery, the award-winning 'Yellow Restaurant' and popular dining establishments like Bistro916 and Fratelli Paradiso make event catering seamless.
The venue's history is noteworthy. In the 1950s, it served as an art gallery, showcasing works by John Olsen, Robert Hughes, and Robert Klippel, among others. In the early 1970s, contemporary illustrator Martin Sharp transformed the space into a collaborative artist's movement known as The Yellow House Artists Collective. Artists such as Brett Whiteley, George Gittoes, Bruce Goold, Peter Weir, Philip Noyce, Albie Thoms, Aggie Read, and more collaborated and displayed a diverse range of artworks, including paintings, sculptures, films, and interactive art projects.
