Canton Hall is tucked away in a beautiful heritage building conveniently situated on Hay Street. It boasts original fittings from when the building was first erected in 1905 with high timber ceilings, wrought iron chandelier, baltic pine floors, fireplaces and period windows overlooking the city streets. The space provides a warm and inviting backdrop for any gathering, celebration or workshop.

The entire venue has bar fridges available with dishwasher, and a plating area available for licensed caterers, as well as the side rooms and an outdoor balcony area. It also contains separate male & female toilets.

The best part - all furnishings come with the space hire! But we're also happy to move them out to make way for your own furniture/styling.

It was such a perfect venue with so many opportunities...really appreciate the support.

The venue was pretty.

The management of the venue was, in my view, quite unprofessional bordering on dodgy for the following reasons: 1. One and a half weeks before our event (and after I had made the payments for our 11 hour hens event) I was told that the archway between the two side rooms I had booked as part of booking the entire venue had been filled in. No explanation, apology or offer of a discount was offered. I complained and pointed out that the openness of the space was the main reason we had chosen that venue but received no response. I complained about not getting a response and eventually got an email from the manager apologising and saying they should have communicated the change to us. 2. On the day of our event we could not get in contact with anyone from the venue. I called three seperate phone numbers all multiple times and could not get through to anyone, I still haven’t had these calls returned. The reason I was trying to contact the staff was because only a few toilet rolls were provided for an 11 hour event of around 60 people. One of the guests had to leave the party to bring back toilet paper. Lucky this was only a minor issue however it made the rest of the night stressful knowing that we wouldn’t be able to get in contact with someone if we needed to. 3. At some point during the night a random man came into the hall (into our private event) and started going through the drawers. I approached him and he said it was okay as he was the manager. I found this completely unprofessional that he had come without contacting us first. He did not apologise for coming without notifying us or even ask us how the event was going. While the venue was nice I was extremely disappointed in the management of the venue and because of this found the event I was hosting quite stressful. Therefore I could not recommend this venue.
