About this space
Located on the Ground Floor, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking Swanston Street, the Western Gallery is a light-filled gallery space branching out from the entrance foyer. During gallery opening hours, the space is ideal for a private morning tea, lunch, or afternoon tea, where guests can experience the buzz of a public gallery in a sectioned-off private area.
By night, the Western Gallery is available for exclusive hire, and transforms into a stunning setting for a stand-up cocktail event, or a striking long table or banquet-style dinner. The Western Gallery is a live exhibition space, and event capacities and formats will vary depending on the artworks in the space at any given time.

With less than three years of operation underway, Science Gallery is a new and undiscovered venue for events. Take advantage of the unique gallery setting. With two flagship exhibitions per year, the gallery spaces require minimal furniture and event styling to be brought in, saving you thousands of dollars in hire and decor.
Our in-house AV team can support event organisers with basic requirements such as staging and PA systems for basic speeches, through to complex hybrid and live streamed events, and even projection mapping!
