This is by far the worst experience my family, friends, and I had to endure. If you’re thinking about hosting an event here DON’T. And if you’re wanting to be treated with any sort of decency or respect? For sure DON’T come here. I don’t think disorganization, unprofessional, or incompetent would even begin to describe the management for The Patio at Sloans Lake. In January, my now husband and I decided upon having a small micro wedding with our closest friends and family. We planned a beautiful mountain lake side ceremony and began looking for a place to host our reception. Through a website called Tagvenue, we found The Patio at Sloans Lake and learned you can actually rent the lakeside patio attached to their bar. We submitted an inquiry and on January 11th were contacted by Phil. On February 8th we solidified that reservation with him after many messages back and forth and hoping on a phone call to discuss the details and pricing for reserving the space ($1,000 food and beverage minimum.) On February 27th, Phil introduces us to his manager Phillip. After many attempts to get ahold of either Phil or Phillip to get together so that we can “create our menu” with them. We had no success from the dates April 1st - May 7th. On May 7th were informed from Phillip that Phil no longer works there and that he himself would be stepping down as the general manager. He then introduced us to Jason. Jason, spoke with my fiance on the phone and was VERY busy and asked if we could email him and he would get “right back to us” to set up a meeting. We received one email in total from him. We emailed back with zero response. We called, Jason’s there but “busy”. We called, “oooo he just left”. So we decided to walk in. On June 4th - We walk in, ask for a table and ask to speak to Jason if he is in. The person seating us was the infamous Jason himself. He was less than thrilled to see us as he was just “stopping in on his day off” and made sure to make us feel like we were being done such a favor by having the pleasure of briefly talking to him. We asked him what they needed from us, a deposit? A signed agreement for the reservation of the space? Anything? Which was followed with a huffy “uhhhh no, not really guys. What do you need from us? We have you on our reservation calendar and that’s just what we do here we don’t take deposits or anything.” Our wedding was yesterday on June 27th, after our ceremony my best friend heads to The Patio at Sloans lake and is going to set up our drink sign, our cookie favors and wait to greet our guests while we got changed. She showed up to a “reserved” patio full of patrons. She asked about the reservation and was told “we do not have any evidence of a reservation.” My father showed up to handle this with her and had the utmost displeasure of speaking with Jason who claims he has only worked there for 3 weeks and has no clue who we are and have never heard of our reservation. LIE. Was also told “we sent them a whole bunch of emails and never heard back and assumed they canceled.” LIE. Our spam filer was checked thoroughly. While I’d love to say “this was our wedding night and they ruined it.” Since they had 22 of our guests and us scrambling to find a new place to celebrate an hour after getting married - I can’t. We found an amazing place to host our guests that welcomed us with open arms, and were MORE than accommodating Sidecar Lounge. “This shouldn’t happen to anyone but especially two people celebrating their love and marriage, we are so sorry you had to deal with that.” Thank you staff at the Sidecar Lounge. We will be speaking thoroughly this upcoming week to whatever level of higher management we can, the Tagvenue management has already been contacted so that we can help remove The Patio at Sloans lake, as well as speaking with our friends at a news paper who I’m sure will be more than happy to write about the local restaurant that left 22 people with no where to go after 6 MONTHS of terrible communication. Hey Jason, I would just like to say, you’ve picked the wrong one.
