Welcome to The City Theater, the intimate blackbox theater of City Ballet of Maryland. With 95 audience seats and a 1,600 sq. ft. stage, our versatile venue provides the perfect setting for performances, showcases, rehearsals, lectures, and community events.
Designed to bring audiences closer to the art, City Theater combines professional-grade facilities — including lighting, sound, and AV capabilities — with the warmth and accessibility of a community-centered space. General Theater House Rules
Respect the Space - Please treat the theater, stage, seating, and all equipment with care.
No Recording - Video or audio recording devices are not permitted without prior approval.
Food & Drink - Only water in a closed container is allowed inside the auditorium. No other food or beverages.
Quiet Please - Silence cell phones and keep noise to a minimum during performances or rehearsals.
Seating - Only sit in designated areas. Aisles must remain clear at all times.
Children - Must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Accessibility - Please respect accessible seating and accommodations.
Emergency Exits - Familiarize yourself with exits; do not block pathways.
Pets - Service animals only.
Parking - Use designated parking areas only; street parking regulations must be followed.
Enhanced cleaning measures:
The space is cleaned & disinfected in accordance with guidelines from local health authorities
All hosts are required to do the following prior to each booking:
Sweep, mop, vacuum and clean the space.
Supply a hand washing station with soap, warm water, and paper towels or hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
Clean common areas allowing guest access including bathrooms, kitchens, and entrances.
Collect and clean dishes, silverware, and other provided host amenities, if applicable.
Remove garbage and add new lining to cans.
