A Tribute to HDB Living
Lou Shang, which opened its doors on 22 August 2023, is brought to you by the creators of the popular speakeasy bar Mama Diam. Located just up the staircase from level one, Lou Shang features an eerily accurate replication of a HDB void deck, complete with a community notice board, an old "lift," and the familiar green trash bins that have become iconic in Singapore’s neighborhoods. The concept was born out of a desire to pay homage to HDB living in Singapore, where multi-racial families live together in harmony.

Lou Shang: Rediscovering the Nostalgic Vibe of Singapore’s HDB Living
Lou Shang 楼上, which translates to "upstairs" in Mandarin, is a unique all-day café concept located at Prinsep Street. Inspired by the sights and vibes of HDB dwellings from the 1980s and 1990s, Lou Shang transports patrons back to the older days of Singapore, offering a nostalgic experience that resonates with both locals and visitors.
Located on Level 2 of Mama Diam, Lou Shang is an experiential all day cafe that encapsulates the experience of cherished memories of HDB living, a celebration of community, and a homage to the places we call "home."
