At Ivy House Country Hotel we cater for weddings of all shapes and styles. The best location for intimate ceremonies and meals are held in The Crooked Barn. (The smallest wedding party we've hosted was for twelve people).
This impressive 18th-century thatched property is also licensed to comfortably hold up to 90 people for a ceremony comfortably accommodating the bride & groom, photographer, musicians, registration offers and guests.
The Crooked Barn’s oak-beamed high roof and floor-to-ceiling windows overlook lush gardens, making it a favourite place for couples to get wed. For your wedding breakfast you can opt for an open or closed square layout, a horseshoe format, or a long top table with smaller clusters of tables, or else, two long tables Hogwarts-style, to suit larger parties of up to 60 people.
Enjoy a private meal and time to celebrate in the barn after your ceremony until 5pm, which is when guests vacate The Crooked Barn, before moving into our hotel bar, Eve's Bar, for drinks after the meal. (Please note, Eve’s Bar is not an exclusive space).
This space boasts historic architecture featuring original high oak beams, a charming thatched roof, and picturesque garden views. Fairy lights delicately adorn the ceiling beams, creating a romantic and light/airy atmosphere. The wooden floors add to the overall ambiance, complemented by a PA system for audio needs. Comfortable leather chairs provide seating, and guests have access to Eve's bar for pre-ceremony drinks.

We play host to weddings of all types and sizes, from small intimate occasions of 10 to larger grand-scale shin digs for up to 230 guests. Packed full of charm, The Crooked Barn is an inimitable location for a wedding ceremony. We also have another stunning space, Ivy Hall – perfect for larger ceremonies, your wedding breakfast and reception. Alternatively, our grounds provide a blank canvas for sun-soaked and star-gazing weddings.
