The Crypt is our private space downstairs — and yes, it’s got a bit of a name to it, but don’t let that put you off. It’s one of our favourite spots. It seats 30 comfortably, 40 if you’re standing with drinks and nibbles. Access is via stairs only, but if that works for you, it’s well worth it. People usually walk in and go “oh wow” — and honestly, we love seeing that.

We’re tucked away just off the high street, but once you’re inside, it’s like stepping into a little escape from the noise outside. Bill’s Guildford has always been about that mix of comfort and character.
People come in for all sorts of reasons — a lazy breakfast, a long-overdue catch-up over lunch, or dinner that turns into cocktails and stories. We’ve built a menu that covers all the bases: proper food, cooked well, a few twists here and there, and some indulgent desserts we probably shouldn’t eat as often as we do. And if you’re just coming for drinks, that’s more than okay — the bar’s always ready.
