Inspired by hawker dining bars of SE Asia, shared eating is the focus at Rice Paper Scissors Fitzroy. The upper level, available for private hire, is great for both personal & corporate functions.

Our upper level in our Fitzroy restaurant offers a private, dedicated, function space with a capacity of 30 seated or 50 standing.

Rice Paper Scissors is modelled on the hawker dining bars of South East Asia, with a shared eating concept being the focus of what we do.

We aim to serve only the freshest ingredients, sourced organically and ethically where possible and all our sauces, pâtés and relishes are made in-house.

We do not allow for outside catering or beverage to be brought in and we will provide the full service and staff ourselves.
No smoking is allowed indoor but there is easy access to outside.

Food was wonderful, staff were easy to communicate with throughout the entire process and they were so accomodating!! Service on the day was amazing and all the staff were flexible and just overall so lovely to work with!! Will definitely be back to try some different stuff on the menu too

Rice Paper Scissors Fitzroy location at 307 Brunswick Street, has a beautiful upstairs function room available for private hire for up to 30 seated guests or 50 standing for an intimate affair.

The industrial style room comes with its own private cocktail bar, big windows that look out over bustling Brunswick Street and its own private bathrooms. The space is perfect for birthdays, engagements, hens, intimate weddings, standing cocktail events or group sit down dinners.

Equipped with a projector and AV equipment, the function space can accommodate corporate lunches, brand launches or group business meetings too.
If you’ve dined with Rice Paper Scissors before, then you’ll know they believe in a shared style of eating with everyone dining together – while still having your dietary needs catered to. We think food tastes better this way.

With a strong focus on cocktails, our staff know how to quench your thirst. Listen to your own great track list (or let us do the music!) whilst sipping on a South East Side. For our lovely function guests, we offer two seated menu styles: a set banquet or a build-your-own option with your choice of dishes. A wide selection of canapés is also available. Dietary requirements? We have you covered! This is all personally catered for by the team.
