About The Grand on Stanley
The Grand on Stanley’s name was chosen for its simplicity, irony and understated opulence, much like the bar itself. Inspired by the roaring 1920’s when ‘speakeasies’ became popular due to prohibition, the venue has an intimate and elegant demeanour whilst remaining somewhat discrete. The original elements of the building have been restored for authentic appeal including the stained-glass windows, exposed brick walls and lavish light features creating a cosy and ambient atmosphere.
Finer decorative details inside the bar include plush red curtains, lavish gold banquette seating and timber bar, creating the sense of ‘old-world glamour’. Black and white photos of Brisbane landmarks adorn the walls, showcasing our rich history and paying homage to the local area. The Grand on Stanley offers a stage, a 65 inch television for photo slide shows or video presentations, sound system, microphone and an outdoor garden section with fairy lights, extra seating and access to the rear lane where parking is available.
