Where it all began!

23 years ago, Vijay Bist opened his flagship restaurant, Amber India, in Mountain View, California. After years of studying and training across the world in the field of hospitality, he decided to act upon his immense passion for Indian Cuisine and the rest, as they say, is history.

Just seven weeks after opening Amber India, it was awarded Best Indian Restaurant in the Bay Area by the Chronicle. Since then, it has continued to receive numerous accolades and awards.

After 20 years at the flagship location, Amber India moved across the street to a bigger location in Los Altos. Now located in a hacienda-style building, it features a brightly lit dining room, a serene patio, a lavish banquet room, a modern lounge, and an elegant private event room. The restaurant has a relaxed ambiance and decor that is influenced by traditional Indian artwork.

Amber India serves authentic North Indian food that explores Mughlai cuisine and replicates flavors from traditional cooking techniques like using the tandoor. Our menu has an extensive selection of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and you can also enjoy an exceptional selection of traditional Indian drinks as well as cocktails, beer, and wine.
