The cafe is a cosy yet spacious ground floor space that can comfortably accommodate up to 85 people standing or 50 seated.

Available for hire with or without furniture, with additional features including a P.A sound system, vinyl turntables, and a projector. This space has one gender neutral toilet, though there are three other toilets on site. It's also wheelchair accessible.

Previous hires have included acoustic live music events, dance events, arts workshops and pop up markets.

Host rules

1. BOOKING: All booking applications must be in writing. The person making the booking will be considered the Hirer. Where an organization is named in the application, the organization will also be considered the Hirer and shall be jointly and severally liable with the person who signs this form.

2. FEE: The Hirer will pay a non-negotiable hire fee plus VAT at the point of booking.

3. COSTS & RE-CHARGES: There is an itemized costs and re-charges sheet (available), these costs are in addition to the hire flat fee, any additional amounts due will be agreed upon during the booking process and either payable at the point of booking or payable within 7 days of the event. Additional charges to cover the cost of rectifying any damage/s arising from the hire shall be charged if deemed right and fair, and will be charged to the hirer within 7 days of the event.

4. SUPERVISION AND RESPONSIBILITY: New Cloak Ltd. will, during the period of the hiring, provide security staff on request and be responsible for the supervision of the premises, the fabric and the contents, their care, safety from damage however slight and the behavior of all persons using the premises whatever their capacity. The hirer is responsible for managing their own ticketing checks at the event/s unless otherwise agreed with the venue in advance.

5. UNDER 18’S: The hirer agrees to ensure that in the event that the hiring involves the attendance of children and young persons under the age of 18 at the premises, the Hirer confirms that there will be in place an appropriate Child Protection Procedure. The Hirer agrees to ensure that all adults present on the premises are aware of this Procedure and abide by it. The Hirer confirms that, when necessary under the terms of the Child Protection Procedure, appropriate Criminal Records Bureau checks will be carried out in respect of persons involved with children and young people on the premises during the course of the hiring.

About Cloak

Our space is made of two distinct areas: an upstairs cafe/bar with a large seating space that can be easily rearranged to meet your hire needs (capacity 80-85), and a downstairs bar and music venue that is fully kitted for DJs and/or bands with our own in house equipment (capacity 100-120).

We have a license to be open from 9am to 1am, but we can facilitate load ins/outs outside of these times if required.
