29. Never Have I Ever

A classic drinking game in its own right, Never Have I Ever can easily be transferred to your very own Zoom Happy Hour. The rules are simple, people take turns saying “Never Have I Ever” and something they have never done before. If other players have done it, they take a drink. If no one in the group drinks, then the person asking the question must drink. You can also play a non-drinking version of the game where you hold your hands up and if you have done what the question asks, then you simply put your hand down. What do you need to know when planning games on Zoom?

If you have settled on planning a game night there’s always the question of why Zoom and what would be the best way to go about it?

First off, there’s no need to worry about any paywall since Zoom is (mostly) free to use across a wide range of platforms and devices. With the free version of Zoom, you can host up to 100 other call participants for a maximum of 40 minutes. To host groups for longer, then additional licences will be required. Besides this, you can easily still host your game night and, if need be, you can always create a new room and call back once the first 40 minutes are up.

The other great advantage of a Zoom online game evening is that you can easily schedule it. Once a time and date are agreed on, all you have to do is send the meeting room link, and it will show up in your participants’ Zoom calendars, which can then be added to their own respective organizers. This all makes for easy peasy planning, which means less stress.

Get ready to take your fun online!

Thanks to the many opportunities Zoom presents, distance doesn’t have to be an issue when planning a game night or Happy Hour with friends or colleagues. Whether it’s for office team building, a party, or simply a game night, these Zoom games are sure to bring a smile to everyone’s lips. Of course, if you’re still worried about managing any of these games, you can always use other platforms like The Team Quest where the host can manage the event, making sure that you can enjoy it too.

Zoom is designed to work on almost any device from a major manufacturer. The software is available in both app form for mobile devices and it can also be downloaded for use on computers.

How do you schedule a meeting?

Scheduling a meeting is free and easy with Zoom. All you need to do is click the ‘Schedule meeting’ button, share the meeting ID and password and make sure that all the participants have access to this. You can also allow it to add the meeting to your calendars so you can keep track of the time.

How do you play games on Zoom?

This depends on what option you choose. If you go for a hosted game (e.g. Around the World or The Team Quest) professional hosts will take care of everything for you – all you have to do is share a link with all participants. The DIY route also offers many possibilities. You can get a board game and share your screen or download an app to play together. If you decide to go with an unhosted game you may need to use the breakout rooms feature in order to split your colleagues into teams – if you are not sure how to do it, check out this easy to follow, step by step guide on how to create zoom breakout rooms.

What are some games to play on Zoom with coworkers?

Playing games on Zoom with your coworkers is a great way to connect with your remote team. You may want to try some hosted team building activities, e.g. Yolking from Home, a TV-game-show-themed competition with six types of engaging games. You can opt for a workshop, e.g. make your own scented candle during a Candle Making Class or mix your own cocktails during Cocktails Around the World. And if you’re looking for something thrilling, you may enjoy Jury Duty, where your team will act as a jury on a murder trial!
