During this workshop, the Olympian Simidele Adeagbo will share her transformational story of becoming the first African woman and the first black woman to compete in the Olympic skeleton. You'll learn to cultivate empathy, expand your knowledge, and gain diverse perspectives. Plus, you'll create conversations that unite and work towards removing bias and championing an inclusive culture. Imagine the possibilities when every voice is heard! You'll also learn to leverage listening as a powerful tool for inclusion, creativity, collaboration, integration, and innovation. And don't forget to listen to other perspectives, including the impact of microaggressions, language, and what it's like to be a F.O.D. (first, only, different).
First things first, you'll need a computer, an internet connection, and a willingness to learn and grow. As for any specific materials, fear not, for everything will be provided to you digitally. No need to worry about lugging around heavy binders or losing any handouts. You'll have everything you need right at your fingertips.
The short answer is, yes, you can! The minimum number of participants is 10, but we understand that some teams are larger than others. Fear not, for we can accommodate up to 100 participants in this workshop. With Simidele Adeagbo at the helm, you can rest assured that your team will receive the same level of engagement and empowerment, no matter the size.
