Canny Man’s is one of those places you hear about long before you ever step inside. Sitting on Morningside Road, it looks like an ordinary old pub from the outside, but once you walk in, you realise... The place has been around since 1871, run by the Kerr family for generations. Every room is packed with odd bits, antiques, photos, and things that look like they’ve been there forever.
The main bar hasn’t really changed in decades, and that’s part of the atmosphere. People come in for all sorts of reasons - some for the huge whisky selection, others for the Bloody Mary that everyone in Edinburgh seems to talk about. There’s always a bit of friendly noise, plenty of regulars, and the staff still do things the old-fashioned way, like offering snacks with drinks or laying out a tablecloth if you order champagne.
