About this space

The large, white-walled Gallery Space is flooded with natural light from the overhead windows. The centrally-located space comprises two spaces, the main gallery and a smaller room, which can be used as an extension of the gallery or a back of house area.

Whether it’s an exhibition, theatre, workshop, market, launch event, or rehearsal, we’re happy to chat about any ideas may you have.

There is a set of stairs leading to the Gallery space and we regret to inform you that the 1st-floor space areas are not accessible to wheelchair users.

Standard 60 day with Grace Period

Cancellations within 24 hours after booking confirmation will receive a full refund. This excludes events starting within 48 hours.

Cancellations 60 days in advance will receive a full refund.

Cancellations 60 days to 30 days in advance will receive a 50% refund.

Cancellations for events starting within 30 days are non-refundable.

About The Island

We are a studio complex, arts facility, and events space, based in the Old Bridewell Police Station in Bristol city centre.

The Island is a part of Artspace Lifespace. The charity recycles vacant, underused, and problem properties into thriving creative resources. We host over 100 resident artists and boast a Circus Training Space, Dance Studio, artist studios, music studios, and a spacious art gallery.

In addition, our Basement area is situated in the former police cells, outdoor training yard, and motorbike car park, and has a very unique and industrial vibe.

The building is ideal for filming alleyway scenes, nightclub scenes, gallery scenes, and much more.
